Beautiful blouse with beautiful buttons and details at the sleeve in dove blue gray / blue, nice supple fabric, two vague spots in front, see photo 5, not very noticeable (in a certain light, it is a sloping fabric, therefore almost not visible and of course invisible if the blouse is worn under a jacket). Gabriela Hearst uses TIPA flexible packaging, which offers bio-based alternatives to traditional plastic packaging that are fully compostable. TIPA was founded in 2010 by Daphna Nissenbaum and Tal Neuman to address the plastic waste crisis. Its flexible packaging has the durability, transparency and shelf life of conventional plastics yet has the same end-of-life as organic matter, returning to nature with no harmful impact to the environments

There's a homespun feel to Gabriela Hearst's blue Taj shirt, patchworked from striped upcycled cotton poplin and linen panels.

Upcycling, also known as creative reuse, is the process of transforming by-products, waste materials, useless, or unwanted products into new materials or products of better quality and environmental value. 

Upcycling artists are inspired by the textile waste they see, which is almost an unlimited resource at this point. They create with the intention to use what is already here. This process is important in the circular fashion movement, because it makes use of discarded textiles, giving these materials second lives. 

Because discarded textiles are not typically sheets of fabric, but rather articles of discarded clothing, a lot of creativity is required to transform materials into new fashionable pieces. This challenge is exciting for upcycling artists, as they are driven and inspired to create with what is in front of them and often don’t have much to lose in the process, since discarded materials are readily available and cheap. Because of this, upcycled clothing is often unique as each piece has been thoughtfully crafted into a new garment.

This product is made by creatively upcycling materials that would otherwise go to waste. This makes better use of resources like deadstock fabrics: leftovers from big production that are saved by re-using them.

Linen is a strong, lightweight fabric made from the flax plant. It is one of the most historical fibers, and has been used as a clothing textile since 8000BC. 

Linen is a sustainable fabric because of its low requirements of water, resources, and energy to create. There is also little to no pesticides used on linen farms. 

Linen is notorious for durability and versatility. Linen can withstand high temperatures—making the fabric generally perfect for raiding the jungle or lounging on a tropical island. It absorbs moisture without holding bacteria. In fact, it is actually stronger when wet than dry and becomes softer and more pliable the more it is washed. It just gets better and better the longer you have it in your closet! 

Linen is a bio-based material, making it biodegradable, fully composting after it has retired from use.

Linen is one of the most historical fibers, known for its durability and versatility. Made from flax plant fibres, it is a sustainable fabric due to the low requirements of resources like water and little to no pesticides compared to cotton.
