The brand has partnered with multiple sustainable ocean projects including Sea Shepard and Parley For the Oceans, along with using materials made from ocean plastic in certain lines. Sea Shepherd is an international non-profit ocean conservation organization that uses direct-action to expose and stop poaching, unsustainable fishing and habitat destruction – as well as enforcing international conservation laws. The Parley Ocean Plastic Program combats marine plastic pollution; one of the biggest threats to the ocean today

Stella McCartney has only used paper that is either FSC-certified or made from at least 50% recycled content in their packaging. They are committed to ensuring that that the paper that they use does not support the degradation or destruction of forest ecosystems and that all of the wood and paper they use comes from sustainably certified sources

As a member of the Ethical Trading Initiative since 2012, the brand has adopted the code of labour practice founded on the conventions of the International Labour Organisation (ILO).
