Magi (pronounced may-jai) is a UK brand that creates underwear that aims to make you feel comfortable and beautiful, not contorted and squeezed. In essence: this is underwear your gynecologist will love, without sacrificing the planet in the process

Magi blends multiple sustainable textiles to make their underwear: Their composition is 53% organic hemp, 42% organic cotton and 5% lycra for stretch. Hemp production requires low water and resources and absorbs more CO2 from the atmosphere than forests, which is why industrial hemp farms are what's called a “carbon sink”

Magi is a small business founded by Nergiz, in hope to offer women hemp underwear that is cute and exciting to put on in the morning. She wanted to make underwear that is both comfortable and beautiful, instead of making you feel contorted and squeezed—underwear your gynecologist will love!

All of Magi's products are produced in a partnered factory in Portugal

Magi works with a factory in Portugal that is dedicated to producing garments in a sustainable and ethical way. They have over 15 years' experience in the industry and have made significant investments in making sure their practises are sustainable for the planet. They are SMETA-certified. Magi also sourceds their fabrics from reputable suppliers, and makes sure that everyone in their supply chain is paid and treated fairly. Their textiles are GOTS certified and they've been audited by the Fair Wear Foundation

Magi ships everything in compostable packaging (including the shipping labels!)

I brought the bra for adjustments because of the shoulder straps being too short. The brand already knows and is making improvements! I know they decided not to put  adjustable straps to avoid the plastic component! But would definitely be great to have something in there

Hemp comes from the Cannabis sativa plant, yes the same plant you are thinking of. Cannabis plants require low water and resources, and have been used to make clothing textiles for centuries. 

Hemp is a high-yielding crop, meaning it produces lots of product on a small amount of land. It doesn’t require any chemical pesticides, so it doesn't harm its environment. In fact, it actually helps replenish soil nutrients, regenerating soil, and removing it of toxins.
On top of that, hemp essentially absorbs more CO2 from the atmosphere than forests, which is why industrial hemp farms are what's called a “carbon sink”. 

Hemp has various natural advantages such as keeping you warm in winter, cool in summer and even protecting you from UV rays. Additionally, it's resistant to harmful microbes, mold, and mildew, which means hemp garments won’t smell bad, even after multiple days of wear. On top of that, it's extremely durable, so it can last for ages in your closet.

Organic cotton is cotton grown in pesticide-free environments, with sustainability in mind. 

Organic cotton farmers can keep soil healthy for longer, as the fertility of the soil is not compromised. This also means they only grow GMO-free seeds. Additionally, organic cotton farmers do not have to expose themselves to harmful chemicals, prioritizing workers' health, the health of the people in their communities, and the natural ecosystems they operate in. 

Organic cotton is a bio-based material, making it biodegradable, fully composting after it has retired from use.

Organic cotton is a sustainable solution as it is grown without the use of pesticides, from seeds which have not been genetically modified, unlike regular cotton. It is also more sustainable for cotton farmers, protects their land and is more respectful for people.
