Mayamiko started as a charity set up by Paola in 2008 called Mayamiko Trust. The Trust aimed to provide opportunities to the most disadvantaged women in Malawi by nurturing their creative talents, providing transferable skills and a chance to access sustainable trade practices. Several years later Mayamiko, the brand, was founded, working alongside the charity through the Mayamiko Fashion Lab, where many of the brands garments are made. The Mayamiko Fashion Lab was designed to provide training, education, nutrition, sanitation and fairer trade practices to all of those involved. It started with tailoring training for disadvantaged local women, many of whom are affected by the HIV pandemic or who are carers of HIV orphans. As well as receiving a recognised qualification, women have access to business skills training, mentoring and access to a micro-finance scheme, enabling them to start their own business

Mayamiko has partnered with One Tree Planted, an amazing non-profit organisation who are helping to give back to the planet one tree at a time. All of Mayamiko's packaging is made from recyclable or compostable materials and printed using eco inks. They use no plastic in their packaging: the mailers are compostable from Better Packaging Co, the tissue paper is recycled and the stickers are printed with non-toxic dyes from No Issue. You are going to want to spin around in a whirlwind of colours and tropical vibes the second you wear your Olive maxi skirt. This structured floaty skirt with high waistline is a wardrobe essential this summer. Love at first sight.
Eve wears a size M and is 170cm tall, Tanya wears a size S and is 178cm tall.
Skirt features adaptable elasticated waistband, and full wheel shape. The skirt is not lined.
Ethically made from 100% pure linen. Linen is a textile made from the fibers of the flax plant and uses very little water. The linen fiber is very strong, absorbent, anti-bacterial and dries fast. Garments made of linen are valued for their exceptional coolness and freshness in hot and humid weather, as well as being a sustainable alternative.

Linen is a strong, lightweight fabric made from the flax plant. It is one of the most historical fibers, and has been used as a clothing textile since 8000BC. 

Linen is a sustainable fabric because of its low requirements of water, resources, and energy to create. There is also little to no pesticides used on linen farms. 

Linen is notorious for durability and versatility. Linen can withstand high temperatures—making the fabric generally perfect for raiding the jungle or lounging on a tropical island. It absorbs moisture without holding bacteria. In fact, it is actually stronger when wet than dry and becomes softer and more pliable the more it is washed. It just gets better and better the longer you have it in your closet! 

Linen is a bio-based material, making it biodegradable, fully composting after it has retired from use.

Linen is one of the most historical fibers, known for its durability and versatility. Made from flax plant fibres, it is a sustainable fabric due to the low requirements of resources like water and little to no pesticides compared to cotton.
