Curating vintage and pre-loved collections created by two young women in Amsterdam. The idea behind it is to provide a selection of modern curated clothing while keeping responsibility in mind. Born from a "serendipity" moment, it is now rebranded "Ensō", referring to the Zen-circle which symbolizes creativity, enlightenment, and elegance

The brand hand-picks vintage pieces among thousands (yes, 1000+) garments: only a few will get the "wohoo!" feeling and come back home with the founders. 
Every item will then be carefully reviewed, cleaned, and repaired if needed

Liseth started Serendipity from a desire to wear modern curated clothing without harming people or the planet. After traveling around the world, the urge for a drastic change was stronger than ever.
Andrea, who has inherited her passion for vintage from her grandma and upcycling her mother's wardrobe, was eager to spread that "feeling of uniqueness" in a fresh way.

Liseth and Andrea started Ensō from a desire to wear modern curated women by giving clothing a new life. Both coming from a fashion industry background, they decided to stay involved while feeling proud of the products they bring to other women, joining forces with others to pursue the same goal

A portion of Ensō's selection undergoes some kind of upcycling process before becoming a "new" unique piece of clothing

Since its creation, SAOLA has been committed to the preservation of wildlife, named after Saola, an endangered species. 1% of the proceeds from every pair of their shoes sold supports MWALUA WILDLIFE TRUST, a grassroots organization that relies on volunteer efforts to supply sustainable water systems to wildlife communities, while also promoting human-wildlife coexistence. Volunteers work with communities to raise awareness about conservation, to promote ecological restoration, and to increase ethical economic opportunities to protect Kenya’s nature and biodiversity. Another 1% of SAOLA shoe sales goes towards 1% For the Planet, ensuring that future generations can enjoy wildlife, and animals like the Saola, as much as they have

Sixty to seventy percent of the environmental footprint of a pair of shoes is a result of the product's materials, because of that SAOLA has made eco-construction the central pillar of their shoe development. The uppers of their shoes are made with recycled plastic bottles, otherwise known as PET, giving a second life to plastic and reducing trash in landfills. For their soles, they use harmful natural algae that invade lakes and affect aquatic biodiversity, allowing them to both to use less synthetic materials (between 15% and 20%) for their soles, and to clean lakes of these algae and to limit the release of CO2 into the atmosphere. They also use organic cotton for their laces, and cork for their insoles, both are natural and biodegradable materials

SAOLA Shoes has been working since 2019 with a factory near Hanoi in Vietnam. This factory works with a few big brands that have social and environmental charters in place . This allows the brand to guarantee favorable working conditions for the employees but also the quality of the products because as a young brand, it is practically impossible to impose anything on anyone

Recycled polyester also known as rPET, is created by melting down existing plastic and re-spinning it into new polyester fiber. This fabric can be made from either post-industrial or post-consumer materials. For example, 5 water bottles yield enough fiber for one extra large T-shirt. This material repurposes existing plastic that would otherwise end up in the landfill or the ocean. 

Recycled polyester’s sustainable production requires low resources and energy to produce, and contributes low CO2 emissions. It also reduces the need to extract crude oil and natural gas from the ground to make more plastic, which is much better for the Earth.

Recycled polyester has not much difference from virgin polyester. It exhibits high strength, durability, versatility, and performance, lasting long in your closet, and surviving expected wear and tear easily.

Garments from recycled polyester aim to be continuously recycled without degradation of quality, allowing for circularity.

A synthetic material. However, instead of utilizing new materials to craft the fabric (i.e. petroleum), recycled polyester makes use of existing plastic.
