Mud Jeans manages to close their own loop, with their team of world-class experts in recycling. The brand's new jeans contain up to 40% post-consumer recycled denim. The highest percentage out there

Packaging comprises of 72% recycled cardboard. It is organic, ethical, easily recyclable and 80% biodegradable. No plastic or unnecessary material is included in their packaging

At MUD Jeans their products are produced sustaining to the highest environmental standards. The production techniques that are applied are circular and thus aim to reduce, reuse and recycle the materials that form part of the process. Their organic cottons are GOTs certified, and their recycled cotton is GRS Certified snd OEKO-TEX Standard 100. Compared with industry standard, they produce a pair of jeans with 70% less CO2. The Wyde Sara Works is a high waisted wide leg, worker style jeans. The light weight fabric makes it perfect for the hot summer evenings. The attached pockets in worker look and the embroidered logo at the waistband give the jeans a nice extra feature.

Upcycling, also known as creative reuse, is the process of transforming by-products, waste materials, useless, or unwanted products into new materials or products of better quality and environmental value. 

Upcycling artists are inspired by the textile waste they see, which is almost an unlimited resource at this point. They create with the intention to use what is already here. This process is important in the circular fashion movement, because it makes use of discarded textiles, giving these materials second lives. 

Because discarded textiles are not typically sheets of fabric, but rather articles of discarded clothing, a lot of creativity is required to transform materials into new fashionable pieces. This challenge is exciting for upcycling artists, as they are driven and inspired to create with what is in front of them and often don’t have much to lose in the process, since discarded materials are readily available and cheap. Because of this, upcycled clothing is often unique as each piece has been thoughtfully crafted into a new garment.

This product is made by creatively upcycling materials that would otherwise go to waste. This makes better use of resources like deadstock fabrics: leftovers from big production that are saved by re-using them.
