Approx. 90% of Sleeper's garments are made of 100% natural fibers (they use linen, cotton, silk, viscose, EcoVero Rayon). They closely study materials before sourcing and aim to select responsible textiles, which are proved by international standards and certificates. They also practice zero waste fashion design through careful pattern making and sampling in merchandising the fabrics and accessories. Recycled polyester also known as rPET, is created by melting down existing plastic and re-spinning it into new polyester fiber. This fabric can be made from either post-industrial or post-consumer materials. For example, 5 water bottles yield enough fiber for one extra large T-shirt. This material repurposes existing plastic that would otherwise end up in the landfill or the ocean. 

Recycled polyester’s sustainable production requires low resources and energy to produce, and contributes low CO2 emissions. It also reduces the need to extract crude oil and natural gas from the ground to make more plastic, which is much better for the Earth.
