Curating vintage and pre-loved collections created by two young women in Amsterdam. The idea behind it is to provide a selection of modern curated clothing while keeping responsibility in mind. Born from a "serendipity" moment, it is now rebranded "Ensō", referring to the Zen-circle which symbolizes creativity, enlightenment, and elegance

The brand hand-picks vintage pieces among thousands (yes, 1000+) garments: only a few will get the "wohoo!" feeling and come back home with the founders. 
Every item will then be carefully reviewed, cleaned, and repaired if needed

Liseth started Serendipity from a desire to wear modern curated clothing without harming people or the planet. After traveling around the world, the urge for a drastic change was stronger than ever.
Andrea, who has inherited her passion for vintage from her grandma and upcycling her mother's wardrobe, was eager to spread that "feeling of uniqueness" in a fresh way.
To make vintage accessible to everybody while building a better lifestyle was just the perfect serendipity moment that ended up in the birth of Ensō

Each of Ensō's products is curated and retouched (if needed) in their studio in Amsterdam

Liseth and Andrea started Ensō from a desire to wear modern curated women by giving clothing a new life. Both coming from a fashion industry background, they decided to stay involved while feeling proud of the products they bring to other women, joining forces with others to pursue the same goal

A portion of Ensō's selection undergoes some kind of upcycling process before becoming a "new" unique piece of clothing

Pre-owned items are articles of clothing that have been retired from someone else closet.

Dries Van Noten is a brand with a strong identity and heritage as it is the third generation in a family of tailors. Their pieces are so exclusively crafted that are considered almost art pieces, they have been worn by actors to the Academy Awards. By getting your second-hand item you will not only contribute to the climate change fight, but you will also feel the heritage and glamour of the past 

Dries Van Noten is dedicated to slowing down the fashion industry and retains its full runway archive, selling archival items from the ‘90s, 2000s, the 2010s along with pre-worn pieces, limiting the waste created by the brand. He also has written an open letter cosigned by other industry people to normalize the retail calendar and synchronize the fashion seasons with those of the year. He believes it is "not normal to buy winter clothes in May. And it’s not respectful to the customer who buys at full price to see it marked down 50 percent six weeks later"

Upcycling, also known as creative reuse, is the process of transforming by-products, waste materials, useless, or unwanted products into new materials or products of better quality and environmental value. 

Upcycling artists are inspired by the textile waste they see, which is almost an unlimited resource at this point. They create with the intention to use what is already here. This process is important in the circular fashion movement, because it makes use of discarded textiles, giving these materials second lives. 

Because discarded textiles are not typically sheets of fabric, but rather articles of discarded clothing, a lot of creativity is required to transform materials into new fashionable pieces. This challenge is exciting for upcycling artists, as they are driven and inspired to create with what is in front of them and often don’t have much to lose in the process, since discarded materials are readily available and cheap. Because of this, upcycled clothing is often unique as each piece has been thoughtfully crafted into a new garment.

This product is made by creatively upcycling materials that would otherwise go to waste. This makes better use of resources like deadstock fabrics: leftovers from big production that are saved by re-using them.
