Vegan leather does not make use of animal sources for any of their materials required to produce their fabric. 

Vegan leather saves CO2 emissions, energy, and resources because it uses plant or chemical based materials. It also ensures no animals are harmed in the process of production.

Vegan leather options vary, as there are increasingly more sustainable leather alternatives entering the market. Some are based on natural materials such as fruit, that are completely biodegradable. Others are made of synthetic materials that are often recyclable and/or made of recyclable materials.

SEAQUAL® YARN is made for 90% with high quality polyester material that is coming 100% from waste of products that have been used before by others. For the rest 10% it is made of marine plastic recovered from our oceans, beaches and rivers. This is thanks to the SEAQUAL INITIATIVE, which is a unique collaborative community fighting plastic pollution. 

SEAQUAL® YARN has basically the same qualities as any other similar virgin material, but its recycled content reduces water consumption by 34%, energy by 40%, and carbon emissions by 37% during the production process. So, it's like what you have been used until now, with the addition of contributing to saving the oceans and recycling waste. The material is certified in its composition with what is called GRS certification and also is made in a safe way (OEKO-Tex standard). 

The material is fully recyclable at the end of its life.

Upcycling, also known as creative reuse, is the process of transforming by-products, waste materials, useless, or unwanted products into new materials or products of better quality and environmental value. 

Upcycling artists are inspired by the textile waste they see, which is almost an unlimited resource at this point. They create with the intention to use what is already here. This process is important in the circular fashion movement, because it makes use of discarded textiles, giving these materials second lives. 

Because discarded textiles are not typically sheets of fabric, but rather articles of discarded clothing, a lot of creativity is required to transform materials into new fashionable pieces. This challenge is exciting for upcycling artists, as they are driven and inspired to create with what is in front of them and often don’t have much to lose in the process, since discarded materials are readily available and cheap. Because of this, upcycled clothing is often unique as each piece has been thoughtfully crafted into a new garment.

This product is made by creatively upcycling materials that would otherwise go to waste. This makes better use of resources like deadstock fabrics: leftovers from big production that are saved by re-using them.

Lab-grown diamonds are different from natural diamonds because of the way they are created, but not in terms of aesthetics and properties.

Lab-grown diamonds are as shiny and beautiful as natural diamonds but are created via an induced crystallization process that happens inside a lab. Their durability and hardness is the same, but their social and environmental impact is massively reduced. Natural diamonds are very rare to find, and are extracted manually from very tiny caves, a procedure which is highly dangerous and most often carried out without regulations and/or safety standards.

Growing diamonds inside laboratories allow for a more responsible process for the same outcome.

Bio acetate is a responsible alternative for frames on your (sun)glasses. Their compound is produced from cotton and wood-pulp fibers, making bio acetate 100% biodegradable and recyclable to contribute to a more sustainable future.

Most sunglasses are made from acetate due to its durability, flexibility and high quality; a natural material but with added oil-based plasticisers. With bio-acetate instead, those plasticisers are entirely biodegradable meaning the material is 100% plant-based with no extra nasties. 
This makes the frames also vegan and cruelty-free.
