Most sunglasses are made from acetate due to its durability, flexibility and high quality; a natural material but with added oil-based plasticisers. With bio-acetate instead, those plasticisers are entirely biodegradable meaning the material is 100% plant-based with no extra nasties.

Cupro is a silk-like fabric that uses discarded cotton as its raw material. It helps to divert cotton waste from the landfill, making the earth a greener place. 
Cupro is made using linter - the tiny bits of cotton that stick out of the cottonseed that can’t be spun because of their size. The leftover linter from the cotton industry is then placed in a solution and then spun into fibre. The process involves a chemicals, but comes from plant material, similar to Tencel.

Desserto® is a plant based material created as an alternative to leather made from cactus. The aim is to offer cruelty free, sustainable alternatives, without any toxic chemicals and PVC. 

Desserto®’s cactuses are grown in an organic farming system (USDA certified) in the fertile and mineral-rich region of Zacatecas, Mexico. Cactus can absorb a great amount of CO2 which is why it’s called a carbon sink plant.
