Sandqvist is focusing on four areas where they think they can make a positive impact: climate change, chemicals, biodiversity and water issues. A major contribution to their carbon footprint is the transport of their goods, and their efforts to shift transportation to 100% sea freight continues, however the main mode of transport during 2019 was sea transportation. To minimize the impact that chemicals can have on the environment, Sandqvist has strict requirements on what chemicals can be used in the production process, making sure chemical management of their suppliers is in keeping with the best practices and that water is conserved at all steps of production
