Each Lemlem piece begins in the hands of one of their exceptional artisans. They partner with local artisan studios that use traditional African motifs and techniques to create the beautiful, modern designs that Lemlem is known for. They currently work with artisans in Ethiopia, Madagascar, Kenya, Rwanda, and other countries

The Lemlem Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Lemlem, started by Supermodel Liya Kebede. Since 2006 they have been creating a pathway out of poverty for women artisans in Africa through programs that promote better access to healthcare, job opportunities, and responsible production. The foundation partners with social enterprises supporting training to help women artisans in Ethiopia and Kenya build skills and prepare for jobs in Africa is growing textile and fashion sector. They support maternal and women’s health outreach, education, and services in communities along Lemlem's supply chain in Africa

Lemlem is an artisan-driven collection of women’s, men’s, children’s and home goods made entirely in Africa. Supermodel Liya Kebede was inspired to launch the brand following a trip to her native Ethiopia where she met a group of traditional weavers who no longer had a market for their craft. The brand is committed to elevating artisanship and expanding production and jobs across Africa
