Every pair of Bird Eyewear gives back through our Share Your Sun partnership with SolarAid. This helps to distribute solar light to families in Zambia and Malawi, replacing the use of fossil fuel burning lamps, making the world greener. Additionally, they are a Certified B Corporation, meaning they are rigorously verified to meet the highest standards of environmental impact

Bird Eyewear's packaging is both recyclable and biodegradable. Even their mailer bags are made from sugarcane, so there’s no plastic to be found anywhere. Everything is sustainably sourced, carbon neutral and fully recyclable as certified by Enviro

For every pair of glasses that Bird Eyewear sells, they distribute solar light to remote communities in Africa through their Share Your Sun partnership with SolarAid. This helps the 598 million people in Africa have no access to electricity. Without electricity families have no clean source of light, leaving millions to rely on expensive and dangerous alternatives. Many use homemade kerosene lamps which are a poor source of light; they emit toxic black smoke, cost money to run and are extremely hazardous

Bird Eyewears's suppliers meet the highest standards of manufacturing, including ISO9001 certifications and FDA and CE compliance. Their supply chain ensures no child labour of any kind, no form of forced labour, freedom of association and fair and equal pay. They are also a Certified B Corporation, meaning they are rigorously verified to meet the highest standards of social and environmental impact. They are third party verified and legally required to consider the impact of their decisions on their workers, customers, suppliers, community, and the environment

Bird Eyewear frames are built to last and they consider their whole life cycle when designing them. Their bamboo and wooden frames can be composted, while their laminated wood/aluminium frames can be separated and aluminium layers (10% of the frame) can be recycled. Where possible, they re-use elements of frames and work with a local frame repair company to minimise wastage. Additionally, anyone can take advantage of the brands recycling programme - simply send your frames to them for recycling and receive a 50% discount on your next pair of Birds
